Green Woods Roots & Culture Revival

Green Woods Roots & Culture Revival

Roots, Rock, Reggae on the Seaside

A Biofuel and Reggae powered roots music festival, now in its 5th season. Green Woods features opportunities for recreation as well as education- showcasing locally harvested and produced foods & goods, craft beer and other fermented products, plant-based tech and herbal medicines. There will be an ongoing permaculture installation open to attendees, living soil demos & a highlighted live painting production throughout the weekend.
ONE LOVE
In the spirit of reggae, the Revival celebrates unity and One Love, One Heart. People from a broad range of backgrounds, social groups and progressive industries will come together and share in an open-minded and laid back atmosphere.
Enjoy a plethora of activities on site including disc golf, kayak/SUP rentals, a yoga workshop, a full playground and games for kids & adults; corn hole, horseshoes, Ludo (a Jamaican board game similar to Sorry!). Relax in the Beer Garden or on the beach, or stimulate your mind/body/soul with Healing Arts, Eco Awareness, Social Justice exhibitors & more.
ARTISTS/EXHIBITORS
Headlining artists traveling from Jamaica as well as from around New England and beyond. Musical styles range from reggae and related genres- ska, world, dancehall, dub to roots Americana.  Our vendor village will offer an array of food & craft vendors from around the region. Vegetarian + Vegan along with Omnivore options will be available for patron enjoyment.
MASH-UP COOKOUT
Celebrate the bounty of Maine’s summer with our Mash-up Cookout- a series of experiential & culturally inspired feasts prepared by culinary artists from around the region. These eclectic dinners are served inna casual Maine backyard BBQ style.
This year we will be expanding the Cookout to 3 days; Friday & Saturday dinners and a Sunday afternoon picnic. These fusion style presentations will highlight chef favorites “mashed-up” with another complimentary cuisine. Made with locally grown foods and highlighting cultured/fermented foods & beverages.
VENUE
Thomas Point Beach & Campground, long time home to the world renowned Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival, is seaside and secluded yet minutes away from convenient services & hotels. The highway is just as close and train + airport access are nearby for those traveling from further down the road.
The Green Woods Revival respects the roots & culture of reggae and the struggle and message to overcome and overstand.  Along with that the roots and culture of our homes- wherever that may be. We foster a kind and warm, fun loving, family focused environment interconnected to/by nature, music & community. We share the same passion as our hosts for high quality live entertainment appreciated amongst friendly folks, creating positive vibrations and long lasting connections for all involved.
We hope to see you there, feeling Irie on the Beach side!
